Winston Churchill famously said, “England and the United States are two countries separated by a common language.”
After watching British television shows for many years on the unmentionable channel (what my kids call PBS), I can attest to the accuracy of that statement. As hard as I try I can only understand about half of the spoken dialog. I have to figure the rest of what the show is about on my own.

On the radio today I was reminded of a sort of silly word I used to use, but haven’t thought of for some years: “Diddlysquat.”
It actually is in Webster’s Dictionary.
It means very little or next to nothing.
It probably describes a lot about me and my brain.

What’s the drink of choice to go with lasagna and romaine lettuce with sweet onion, radish, slices of small yellow squash, tomato, and blue cheese dressing?
For me, a salted caramel milk shake of course.
