About six months ago my Florida friend and client Robert had me make a pair of custom ¾-inch-thick, 42-inch-high maple stereo speaker cabinets. Two weeks ago, he came to my shop to finish most of his part of the assembly before driving them to his future home in Seattle. He is somewhat a stereo nut and has done extensive research on stereo audio equipment.
While he was here, I told him I had a couple of boxes of older vinyl records that I haven’t listened to for years. He looked at a few of them and decided I needed to clean and store them properly so he ordered me a record washer, brush, and 100 plastic sleeves. Since then I have started cleaning a few each day and listening to some of them.
One is a stereo demonstration LP I purchased after I had my first stereo record player. The record was produced in 1963 to showcase the advantages of stereo audio equipment, which was relatively new to the affordable retail market.

While listening to that record I was reminded of that time of my life and my lifelong enjoyment of music.
