For my 21st birthday celebration, my friends Chuck Helzer, Richard Perlas, and Charles Person took me out for a drink or two. We ended up at a bar somewhere in northwest Portland, Oregon, that had live entertainment. I don’t remember the name of the place but I do remember we were the only white persons in the audience. Apparently, Chuck had told someone there it was my birthday, so were seated at a table right on the dance floor center.
There was a three- or four-piece band and a big black comedian/master of ceremonies on a small stage. The MC introduced himself as “Super Chief.” He proved to be very raunchy and funny.
After he finished his set, he introduced a very pretty young lady, I don’t think she was more than 18 years old, who proceeded to walk right in front of me and did a slow grind strip tease ending with a barely covered lap dance. This was another instance where I couldn’t decide whether I should be embarrassed or not, so I just sat there and enjoyed it.
After another drink and the band playing happy birthday to me, we left and went partying somewhere else. I am surprised I actually remembered that evening even the next day.
