Bombasts and Infantile Tantrums

Seven years ago I wrote a sarcastic blurb about securing the United States southern border.

I said the easiest way would be for the United States to conquer Mexico and build the wall between Mexico and Guatemala. It would be shorter in length, less expensive, and easier to guard.

Further benefits would include the US military wiping out the drug cartels, being able to stop China from shipping drug supplies into Mexico, nationalizing Mexico’s vast agriculture producers for less expensive food up north, access to a large supply of cheap Hispanic labor, and a larger supply of tequila. No more problems at the southern border.

Now Trump has posted two maps on his Truth Social network showing Canada as part of the United States. Really?

Today I wonder if that may actually be in the offing after hearing the latest somewhat outlandish ramblings and threats made by our new president, who assumes office in two weeks.

Or are his latest bombasts just his infantile tantrums to deflect attention from his real legal threats and the release of the truthful report concerning his illegal taking of classified documents when he left the White House in 2020.

I can’t even imagine what the next four years will be like.
